A Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
JB 43 strives to provide your children with an exceptional education. Our caring, compassionate and dedicated teachers work together to create a learning environment that focuses on developing the whole child. We understand the importance of providing opportunities for our children to experience joy, connect with themselves and with each other and explore their local and global communities to analyze issues and advocate for change. We look forward to working together: staff, students and families to problem-solve and grow closer together. We always want to hear from our entire school community. READNYC & OUR FOCUS ON LITERACY TO BUILD A STRONGER CITY! ...We root this two-generation model in education, because we know that success in school is inextricably linked to the future of communities. It is when children are empowered to succeed academically—progressing from reading at grade-level, graduating high school, and moving on to college or career—and households have moved out of crisis into financial stability that we see proven success and growth.
Getting Here
We are located in the the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. We are easily accessible from the Bx33 and Bx17 buses and also the 6 train, off of the Brook Avenue stop!
